Barnes Academy, a K–12 Christian school in Hartwell, hosted its third annual “Night of Fine Arts” April 3. The students presented a wide range of artistic creation and performance:  painting, woodworking, sewing, cross stitching, photography, monochromatic drawing, charcoal drawings, acrylic paintings, ceramics, jewelry making, writing essays, writing poetry, singing in groups, vocal solos, instrumental solos, skits, poetry recitation, and sign interpretation.

The presentations included the smallest children in the K-4 class to the seniors of the high school; all talent in the school was showcased. Parents and friends alike were amazed at the amount of talent displayed on this night. The students were at their best sharing the talents with which God had so bountifully blessed them. As the students began to share, the power of the Holy Spirit was evident within the entire building. Barnes students stood and listened to the charge of the apostle Paul to Timothy in 1 Timothy, ”Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.” The students had certainly done that this night.
