Mr. Bill tried to tell me!  For years I heard him describe how snorkeling revealed hidden beauties.  I couldn’t imagine myself in that breathing apparatus, sounding like Darth Vader. Finally, several years ago I snorkeled with Mr. Bill off the Mayan Coast of Mexico.  The crystal clear Caribbean waters held a world of incredible treasures: brilliant coral reefs and fish with more colors than anything I’d seen from Georgia’s muddy banks. Mr. Bill was right!  Oh, no! Did I say that?

The Book of Ephesians describes workmanship like no other: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (2:10)  Do you know how truly unique we are?  We are God’s work-of-art created for good works!  Consider how God orchestrates our days:  the student crying in the hall … the mother struggling with her infant in the grocery store line … that rude and indifferent sales person … a neighbor’s grief … the stranger asking for directions … anger of a co-worker.  We are His design, created in Christ to do His business, and He’s already planned what we should do. Will we be His hands, His feet, His voice, His heart?  What good works are we called to do today?

Dear Lord,

Forgive me for neglecting Your business in lieu of my own.  Take my hands, my feet, my voice, my heart … make it Your own today.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
